Sandro Kopp (b. 1978, Heidelberg, Germany) is a painter living and working in the Highlands of Scotland. Working on the cusp of classical painting and digital technology, Kopp’s current body of work investigates the concept of mediated presence. Exploring notions of human connection, his series of more traditional portrait paintings are produced during Skype conversations and call into question communication technology in relation to human interaction.
Kopp, who studied in Wellington New Zealand, has exhibited internationally at Lehmann Maupin and FIVE ELEVEN in New York, IST Festival in Istanbul, Brachfeld Gallery in Paris, and The National Portrait Gallery in London.
